GEORGETOWN - The Lord Jesus took our Mother, Della Mae (Cox) Kees, 84, home to be with Him at 3:32pm on Monday, January 9th, 2006, at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home. She was born on September 22nd, 1921, in Hildreth, IL, the daughter of Frank and Eliza Maybelle (Green) Cox. She was united in marriage to Joseph Edwin Kees on August 1st, 1940. Joe E. preceded her in death on May 24th, 1995. Those who will miss Della include: her three children, Judith Ann Stark of Hoopeston, Joseph Michael Kees of Catlin, and John Richard Kees of Catlin; her sister, Alice Marie Hall of Westville; her two brothers, Arley Raymond Cox of Muskegon, MI, and Eric Eugene Cox of Onalaska, WI; her eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; her special friend, Tyler Cunningham of Georgetown. Her parents, one brother-William Cox, and two sisters-Violet Faye Binkley and Mary Jane Osborn, preceded her in death. Della graduated from Sidell High School and attended CNA School and was a caregiver to many. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Georgetown; she was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and also a past Matron of Beulah Chapter OES 157 Ridge Farm that was later affiliated with Danville Chapter 834 OES. Della liked to volunteer at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She worked for 25 years for the Peterson Filling Company that is now known as CCL. Della dearly loved her Lord Jesus, husband, family, and friends and willingly dedicated her life to them. A celebration of Dellas life is scheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday, January 12th, 2006, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Visitation will be noon to 2pm prior to service. Reverend Leon Korb will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola. In lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Presbyterian Church of Georgetown.
