Deletia A. Clawson

Covington, Ind. - Deletia A. Clawson, 78, of Covington, passed away at 4:48 p.m. EDT Thursday, March 15, 2012 at I.U. Health Arnett in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born June 25, 1933 in Watseka, Illinois, the daughter of the late George and Bertha Maus Vanderwalt. She married Arthur L. Clawson on December 27, 1953 in Lafayette, Indiana. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Alice(Phil)Benson of Lafayette, Indiana and Gregory(Jane)Clawson of Perrysville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jonathan Clawson; Alisha Clawson; Bradley Benson and Neil Benson; one great grandson, Garrett Clawson; one great granddaughter, Taylor Kirts, and Deletia's twin sister, Deloda(Richard)Hempenius of Blue Springs, Missouri. Deletia was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Vanderwalt and brother in law, Sam Miller. Deletia formerly worked at General Telephone Company in Lafayette, Indiana. She was a member of the Cates Community Church. Deletia was a 1951 graduate of Mulberry High School. She was a Sunday School teacher for ten years and a former 4-H leader. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Funeral services: 6 P.M.
