Danville - Debra Lynn Piper, 55, of Danville passed away at 9:17 PM on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 14, 1958 in Danville to Russell W. and Patricia Ann Oliphant Piper. They survive. She is also survived by three daughters, Brittany Newell of Danville, Amber (Trent) Lomax of Danville, and Christina (Telito Brigham) Newell of Danville; brother, Gregory “Scott” (Debi) Piper; a sister, Terri (John) Rogers; four grandchildren, Mikaela Felton, Nikiya Felton, Ethan Lomax, and Adalyn Lomax; four nieces and nephews, Heather Shields, Justin Card, Matthew Piper, and Kati Piper; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Debra had worked as a telemarketer for Miracle Ear in Danville until their closing. She enjoyed reading, playing on the computer, singing, and horseback riding. She was also an avid Elvis fan, loved her dog Bubba, and was a fantastic cook who liked to try new recipes. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandkids and family. She was a loving woman and a second mom to many people, and will always be remembered for her big smile. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Debra Piper will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Cremation rites will be accorded. Bishop William Fulton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
