Debra Brown, 68, of Westville, passed away at 4:06pm, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born on November 29, 1954, in Danville, the daughter of Gerald and Charlotte {High} Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Michell Doggett; her grandchildren, Brady and Kara; her great grandson, Braxton; as well as her siblings, John (Betty) Brown, Ed (Deb) Brown, and Mary Wheeler; and her niece, whom she was very close, Laura and her kids and nephew, Jim and his family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Adam; and her siblings, Bob, David, Charlotte, and Virginia. Debra worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the VA Illiana Health Care System for 32 years. She enjoyed walking, gardening, working in her yard, flowers, and reading. She loved her job and the veterans she worked with were like family to her. She will be dearly missed. A celebration of Debras life will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, March 6, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 1:00pm on Monday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to Disabled American Veterans and Shriners Hospitals.
