Debra Baskis

Debra Joan (Toliver) Baskis, fondly known as Debbie, passed away on January 28, 2026, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Born on September 26, 1954, at Mercy Hospital in Urbana, Illinois, Debbie was the beloved daughter of Wayne and Joan (Smith) Toliver.

On June 6, 1992, Debbie married the love of her life, Chris Baskis, at St. Malachy’s Church in Rantoul, Illinois. She is survived by her sister, Cheri (Toliver) Gibbons, and her twin brothers, Tad (Teri) Toliver and Tod (Carla) Toliver. Debbie cherished her many nieces and nephews, as well as her great and great-great nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

A devoted fan of the Cardinals and the ILLINI, Debbie cheered passionately for her teams. She found joy in baking delicious treats for friends and family and loved spending time tending to her garden. Debbie treasured the company of her friends, who became like family over the years.

Debbie’s kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Malachy Catholic Church, 340 E. Belle Ave. Rantoul, IL. 61866 at 9:30 am on Friday, February 6, 2026. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Lux Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, IL 61866.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Debbie’s name to St. Malachy’s Church.
