Deborah “Debby” Jeffries (Woodrow), a lifelong resident of Covington, Indiana, passed away on May 3rd at the age of 76.
Born to the late John and Judy Woodrow, Debby remained deeply rooted in the Covington community throughout her entire life. She was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church as well as active in many community organizations over the years.
Debby dedicated her professional life to helping others as a speech pathologist, serving students at Catlin schools in Illinois and Danville District 118. Her patience and expertise left a lasting impact on countless children and families throughout the region.
Beyond her career, Debby was known for being both funny and sassy, a combination that made her a joy to be around. She was always the first to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend in need. She loved to travel and found great peace working in her yard and cherished the companionship of her pets. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Her deep love of her family often meant giving of herself so that they could thrive. She was a constant fixture on the sidelines and in the audience, never missing an opportunity to watch her children and grandchildren play sports or perform music/dance.
Debby was preceded in death by her parents, John and Judy Woodrow, and her husband, Jerry Wilson.
She is survived by her three children: Dustin Wilson (Kim), Sally Moore (Andy), and Kevin Jeffries (Allyson). Her spirit lives on through her eight grandchildren: Corinne (Moore) Hannah, Conlan Moore, Cian Moore, Caroline Wilson, Madeline Wilson, Max Wilson, Valerie Fisher, and Briley Fisher; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Eleanor “Nori” Hannah.
Per Debby's wishes, there will be no visitation or formal funeral services. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honor her memory consider a donation to the Judith Woodrow Scholarship Fund at the Covington Community Foundation.
