Deborah L. Forbeck, 68, of Danville, IL, passed away on June 26, 2023 at her home. Deborah was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Helen (nee Sprucebank) Forbeck. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she later lived in Ohio and settled in Danville, Illinois. She met Mark R. Zeleznik and they married in 1987, he preceded her in death in 1997. She later remarried in 2011 to Ernie Jorgenson.
Deborah was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She worked for Walgreens in the accounting department, several years in the hospitality industry and as a receptionist at the News-Gazette. In her free time she enjoyed going to concerts, especially Garth Brooks with her son Lucas, traveling, attending amusement parks, cooking and decorating for the holidays. Deborah was an avid sports fan; enjoying NASCAR racing and the Indianapolis 500, her favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Her son and granddaughter were the center of her life.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Helen Forbeck, grandparents; Gene & Clara Forbeck, Richard & Betty (nee McClelland) Sprucebank, first husband, Mark Zeleznik, sister Pamela (nee Forbeck) Ringis and step brother Greg McFarland.
She is survived by her loving son, Lucas Zeleznik, granddaughter Bryleigh Zeleznik, brother Michael (Carol) Forbeck, stepmother Sylvia Switzer, stepbrother Steve (Sue) McFarland, nephews Ryan Forbeck, Austin Ringis, Blake and Matt McFarland, niece Elyse McFarland, aunts Betty Anne McClelland, Sister Eugenia "Kate" Forbeck, Mary Gene (nee Forbeck) & uncle Paul Delasandro, her "bonus daughter" Tiffany Woods and her 'bonus' grandchildren Carsen and Aubree Martin, and many wonderful cousins.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 444 E Main Street, Danville, IL 61832. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Father Steven Loftus will officiate.
Memorials may be made in Deborahs memory to the charity of the donors choice.
