Dean Bartos

Danville - Dean Bartos, 83, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL. Dean was born the son of A.R. and Clara Bartos on February 10, 1931 in Danville. Dean met the love of his life, Margaret Robertson and married her in February 1957. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage and family life together. Dean is survived by his wife Margaret Bartos of Danville; his children Carla (Jody) Newell of Danville, Jeff Bartos of Danville, and Jerry (Kristen) Bartos of Danville; his grandchildren Shane Newell, Kyle Newell, William Bartos, and Jennifer Bartos; his nieces and nephews Barbara Thomas, Linda Stevens, Royda Barber, Roy (Lana) Cartwright Jr., Ardie (William) Maire, Susie (Christopher) Bible, Michael (Kaye) Drews, Lucretia (Steve) Hardy, Kevin (Debra) Manasco, Greg (Helen) Manasco, and Steven Jo Embree. Dean is preceded in death by his parents A. R. and Clara Bartos; his siblings Clinton (Margaret) Bartos, Merval (Wilma) Bartos, Wilma (Roy) Cartwright, and Robert Bartos. Dean graduated from Danville High School and enlisted in the Army shortly afterwards and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He worked for the C. & E. I. Railroad before his 38 years at the telephone company. He was a proud member of the I.B.E.W.,and a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, and playing card games, but especially loved euchre and poker. Dean will be missed by many. A celebration of Deans life will be at 11 a.m., January 3, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7pm on January 2, 2015.
