Dawn Star McMillin

Dawn Star McMillin, born October 11, 1958, passed away at her home in Danville, IL, on December 1, 2025. She is the daughter of Neil and Jane (Smith) McMillin.

Dawn obtained her master’s degree in art and loved to work in a variety of mediums, including but not limited to, oil painting, sculpting and ceramics.

She worked for several years in the cafeteria at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.

Dawn also enjoyed spending her free time traveling, camping, and rescuing animals.

Dawn is survived by her children, Misty McMillin (Darrius Cooper) of Columbus, OH, Sean (Cheyenne) Wallace of Daphne, AL, and five grandchildren, Trayvion Brigham, Casaleah McMillin, Da’Riah Cooper, Bentley Coulter, and Royce Wallace.

Dawn is preceded in death by her parents Neil and Jane McMillin and one sister, Diann McMillin.

A service celebrating Dawn's life will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. .

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the funeral home. Pastor James Ford will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL.
