David Williamson

David Williamson, 84, formerly of Danville and Champaign, IL, passed away on October 25, 2022, in Carrollton, TX, where he had resided since June 2019. Dave was born December 16, 1937, in Danville, IL, the youngest of five children born to Arthur and Clara (Hible) Williamson. He attended Grape Creek Grade School and Westville High School. Dave served in the Naval Reserves for approximately seven years. Dave worked as a grocery store manager for Eisner Food Stores most of his career and was well respected by his employees. Dave married Loretta Edna Meyer on February 2, 1958, having met while working at Eisner Food Stores in Danville, IL. The Williamsons were active in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Danville and Champaign, Illinois, and Jacksonville, Florida when they lived in those places. Dave is survived by his only son, David Scott Williamson and his wife, Rhonda, of Carrollton, TX; brother, Glen (Faye) Williamson; grandchildren Sarah DeBoer, Rachel (James) Dietrich, Ryan Scott Williamson, six great-grandsons, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta, his parents, sister Eleanor Haskins, brother Gene Williamson, and sister Lois Campbell. A memorial service with burial will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 10 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Park, 3901 N. Vermillion Street, Danville, IL 61834, (217) 442-9241. The service will be officiated by Pastor Caithamer of St. John Lutheran Church, Champaign, IL. His arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846.
