David W. Sloan, 51, of Valrico Florida, passed away January 9, 2025, at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, Florida. He was born July 19, 1973, to Kevin Sloan and Delores Wilson. He spent his childhood years in Perrysville, Indiana and was a 1991 graduate of North Vermillion High School.
David spent many years living in the Danville, Illinois area before moving to Florida in 2006 and calling it home. He was employed by Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA as Director of Maintenance Facilities. He loved his job and work family.
David grew a passion for all things Tampa Bay sports, with his favorite being Tampa Bay Lightning hockey. He rarely missed a hockey home game with his favorite people. He also enjoyed vacationing and visiting Florida hot spots and events. He truly enjoyed living the Florida life.
David is survived by his parents Kevin Sloan and Delores Wilson, his sister Jennifer Sloan (Jason Holmes), his children Alex, Emersyn, and Emily, four grandchildren, a nephew Andrew Martin, a niece Kaylee Holmes, many aunts and cousins, a beloved friend Angela Vera, and his cat, Oliver.
David was a wonderful person. He will be missed by his friends and family dearly.
Per David’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded in Florida.
