David Royalty

David Lee Royalty, 74, formerly of the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, passed away at his home in Green Valley, Arizona, on Sunday, May 10, 2009, after a long illness. David was born on October 22, 1934, in Danville, IL, the son of Omar and Ruth (Berdenia) Royalty. He was a graduate of Danville High School, the University of Illinois, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. David was a certified public accountant and retired as treasurer of the Dr. Scholl Foundation, and held a directors position at the foundation until his death. For many years, David operated his own accounting practice in Homewood, IL, and was previously associated with the Chicago Firm, Coopers and Lybrand. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Royalty of Green Valley, AZ, son, Douglas (Heidi) Royalty of New Haven, Conn, daughter, Jody (Ed) Andres of Lees Summit, MO, two sisters, Jane Millis of Danville, IL, and Carol Legg of Catlin, IL. His two stepdaughters, Pat (George) Gingras of Mokena, IL, Sharon Covey of St. Charles, IL, and seven grandchildren. His first wife, Nancy Royalty, precedes David in death. A graveside service for Mr. David Royalty will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 5, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park located at 3901 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. A Memorial service for David will also be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the St. Kieran Church located at 724-195th Street (195th and Halsted), Chicago Heights, IL. The Royalty family requests donations in lieu of flowers made to: Dr. Laurence Levine Urology Research, Rush University Physicians Offices at 1725 N. Harrison Street, Chicago, IL 60612.
