David J. Wherry

David (Dave) J. Wherry, 72, passed away on November 22, 2018 in Danville, Illinois. He was born in Danville on November 5, 1946, the son of John and Clara S. Wherry. His parents preceded him in death. His sister, Juliet "Jill" (Andrew) W. Onderdonk of Walpole, MA, passed away in March 2019. Davids survivors include sisters, Marcia J. Wherry of Springfield, and Judith "Judy" (Troy) W. Armstrong of Sacramento, CA, brother-in-law, Andy Onderdonk, nephews Mark Onderdonk and Zachary Armstrong, nieces Jessica Armstrong, Sara Jastrem, and Abby DeMolina, and several cousins. Long-time companion, Vicki Brewer, and his close friends in the Claywell family also survive.

Dave attended Danville schools and graduated from Westville High School. His passion was golf playing with friends and in area tournaments and offering intense commentary on televised golf. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and living out west. He worked in sales in several states and retired from KIK Custom Products.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 North Vermilion Danville, IL 61834 is in charge of arrangements. A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 am on July 10, 2019 at Turtle Run Golf Course and Banquet Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
