David Hance

David C. Hance, of Tilton, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. David was born Jan. 18, 1938, in Danville, son of Reverend Dean and Berdena (Clark) Hance. He married Lavona Lawson on Aug. 11, 1956, at West Liberty Church in Covington, Ind. She survives along with three children, Douglas (Ann Crane) Hance of Tilton, Jeffrey (Rosa Sixtos) Hance of Katy, Texas, and Brian Hance of Oak Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Jacque Besaw) Hance, Kristina Hance, Jennifer (Joe) Pollard, Brandy Hance, Morgan Hance, Matthew Hance and Amanda Hance; and three stepgrandchildren, Amy Excel, Christopher Gran and Linda Sandoval; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mark (Donna Jett) Hance of Grayslake, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. David was a 1955 graduate of Perrysville High School and retired from Teepak after 32 years of ser-vice. He worshiped at Northland Church of Christ in Danville. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed studying American history, reading, Civil War living history, watching sports and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. A celebration of Davids life will be held with a reception from 2-5 p.m. with a brief service at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at CrossRoads Christian Church, 3613 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made at CrossRoads Christian Church.
