David H Brown

David H. Brown, 89, of Danville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

He was born November 8, 1934, in Cumberland, Kentucky, son of the late Gid and Ethel (Creech) Brown.

He married Linda Johnson on January 3, 1956, in Jonesburg, VA, and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2010.

David is survived by his daughters: Kristi Weaver, and Diane (Bryan) Hanson; one son: David M. Brown; ten grandchildren: Steven (Jamie) Brown, David (Tasha) Brown, Shelby Hanson, Zack Thomas, Katie Brown, Aaron Brown, Aaron Weaver, Meagan Weaver, Nick Hanson and Kari Brown; thirteen great-grandchildren: Damian, Dylan, Dalton, Haley, Natalie, Alissa, Kolton, Isaac, Owen, Levi, Waylon, Cylus, and June; one great-great-grandchild: Nova and one brother: Paul Brown.

Along with his wife, David was preceded in death by four brothers, nine sisters and one grandchild.

David was a cement mason for Union Local 143 in Champaign, Illinois for over 50 years before his retirement to enjoy his grandchildren. Along with spending time with his family, David enjoyed gardening and beekeeping.

A Celebration of Life for David will be held at 2PM on Friday, February 23, 2024, with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois 61834. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2PM on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the funeral home.
