David E. Eslinger, 62, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 7:53 p.m. Friday May 1, 2009 at his home. He was born on October 16, 1946 in Paris, IL the son of Harvey and Frances Ward Eslinger. He married Geraldine Gilbert with whom he had three children, Lisa Eslinger of West Terre Haute, IN, Lora Eslinger of Dana, IN, and Andrew Eslinger of Clinton, IN; Other survivors include his lifelong partner, Wanda Richardson of Ridge Farm and her two sons, Corey Meeks of Georgetown and Michael Meeks of Paris; one grandchild, Andrew Eslinger of Clinton, IN; three brothers, Ronnie (Edna) Eslinger of Paris, Donnie (Elsie) Eslinger of Universal, IN, and Danny Eslinger of Terre Haute, IN; four sisters, Rachel (George) Pape of Battle Creek , MI, Clara (Jim) Duncan of Terre Haute, IN, Sylvia (Mark) Johnson of Georgetown, and Darla Lewis of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. David was retired from General Motors. After retirement he worked for a farmer, Ron Todd, and for Elwood Twp. He was a member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Illinois Shriners. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, St. Bernice Post. David enjoyed fishing, mushrooming and riding his Harley. Most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
