David E. Sellers

David E. Sellers, 68, of Westville died at 11:01am, Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on April 30, 1949, in Rolling Fork, MS, the son of Arthur Daniel and Mary Darlene Dottie' {Roberts} Sellers. He was united in marriage to Connie Kathleen Allen on July 3, 1971, in Danville, IL. She survives. He is also survived by: his son, David Sellers of Danville; his daughters, Terri Sellers of Westville & Lori (Marc) Weir of Grandville, MI; his grandchildren, Lacee Sellers, Casey Sellers, Bryson Hoffman, Dallas, Daelyn, & Dhakiya Weir; his brothers, Michael (Carol) Sellers, Tim (Debbie) Sellers, & Steve (Cher) Sellers; and his sisters, Kathy Harris & Becky (Bill) McNew. He was preceded in death by his parents. David worked for 30 years as a railroad conductor for several companies including CSX. Following a battle with cancer, David returned to the work force for his son as a part time dump truck driver which he thoroughly enjoyed. A day didn't go by that the green machine didn't get a bath and put to bed. To say he enjoyed working was an understatement as he was the hardest working man you could meet. He loved working in the yard, mowing with his John Deere and spoiling his loyal dog, Kiki. Not only did he love spoiling Miss Kiki-kins he loved doting over all his grandchildren. A Memorial visitation will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, August 25, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
