David 'Dave' D. Allison

Danville - David "Dave" D. Allison, 65, of Danville passed away at 1:36 PM on May 9, 2018 at his home in Danville after a prolonged illness. Dave was born on December 15, 1952 the son of Verlon and Virginia (Gouty) Allison in Danville, IL. He married Julie Doan on October 20, 1996 in Danville, IL and she survives. Survivors include his wife; Julie Allison of Danville, IL, one son; Curt (Leslie) Allison of Zionsville, IN, two daughters; Ginny Jo Allison of Asheville, NC and Sydnee Allison of Danville, IL as well as three granddaughters; Olivia, Piper and Nora Allison all of Zionsville, IN. He also leaves behind his dog; Daisy Mae. Dave is preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Steve "Radar" Allison. Dave served for over 20 years in the Illinois Army National Guard with HHC of the 2/130th Infantry Company in Urbana, IL and retired in 1993. Dave was also Route Representative for the Coca Cola company and later Butternut Bread and retired in 2013. Dave was a great family man and was loved by many. He was a handyman who could fix anything. He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. Dave enjoyed all sports, especially Chicago Cubs Baseball and Indiana Hoosiers Basketball. He was a great supporter of his kids activities throughout their school years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 at the funeral home. Inurnment, with Military Rites, will be at a later date.
