David Cox

David Cox, 63, of Danville, passed away January 21, 2016 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center. He was born on August 14, 1952 to Clifford and Betty (White) Watson in Chicago, IL. David married Diana Boyer on May 10, 1986 in Cayuga, IN, she survives. Diana survives David as well as sons; Dave Cox Jr. (Lou Ann Moore), Jerry (Debbie Hardin) Handy; daughters, Angela Burks, Elizabeth (Jake Hill) Handy; brothers, Eddie and Gene Cox; sister, Mary Reffett; grandchildren Tiffani Powell, Zara Weston and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by three children, Elizabeth, Tammy and Jerry. Grandchildren were the center of David's life. He was a wonderful husband and dad and friends knew they could always count on David to help out anyone with anything. David had a love for building model cars, watching NASCAR and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. #3. For twenty years David enjoyed driving a semi and later driving for CRIS and PTI. A celebration of David's life will be held at The Vineyard Church at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2015 with family and friends welcome from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Jay Sorrell to officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. David will be laid to rest at Songer Cemetery.
