David W. Cook

David Cook, 73, of Mahomet, IL, passed away at his home. Dave was born on March 6, 1952, in Urbana, IL, the son of Velmer and Louise Cook. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dianna (DeeDee) Miller, married on May 29, 1976, in Paxton, IL. They were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kurtis, and sister, Barb.

He is survived by one sister, Susie Ohl (Barry) of Urbana, IL, as well as many family and friends who will miss his kindness and unique humor.

Dave retired from Sheetmetal Union Local #218.

In his spare time, Dave was always busy working on a project. He was happiest when he was outside, whether it be hiking, hunting, fishing off the bank, or in his boat. He also spent many hours sitting at his picnic table drinking coffee. He would always tell his wife, “I’ve got it made!”

Per Dave’s wishes, no services will be held. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later time. Cremation has been arranged with Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Champaign Mahomet Chapel, 1102 Churchill Rd. Mahomet, IL 61853.
