David Christian, Sr.

David A. Christian Sr., 89, of Westville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday night August 14, 2024, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. David was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky the son of William and Margaret (Nelson) Christian Jr. David married the love of his life Christin Chrostowski on September 2, 1961, they would have celebrated 63years together this year.

David leaves behind his two sons’; David A. (Sharon) Christian Jr., and John C. (Tricia) Christian, six grandchildren; Machaela, Kaitlynn, Camryn, Alyssa, Zachary, and Jace, three great grandchildren; Ellie Mae, Arlo, and Emerson, one brother, Frank (Judy) Christian.

David was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Margeret “Sissy” Hein, one brother, William Christian III, nephews, Michael Christian, Jack and Jay Hein.

David went to work on the Railroad at the age of eighteen, her retired from there and went to work at the United States Post Office as a letter carrier. David was known to have a great sense of humor and a big smile on his face. He enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and loved to help plant trees. His love for kids was known by all and he will be missed by all his family.

A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 pm on Monday August 19, 2024, at Sunset’s Westville Chapel 414 South State Street Westville, Illinois, 61883. Visitation will be 4-7pm at the funeral home following the Rosary service. A mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday August 20, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Westville followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be given in David’s name to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.
