David Barnes

David Barnes, 64, of Danville, passed away at home at 1:57pm, Sunday, March 17, 2019. He was born the son of Robert Lee and Shirley {Jones} Barnes in Danville on October 31, 1954. He was previously married to Patricia Miskus on April 26, 1973.

As a young man, David worked for Vacketta Ford and then later at Win C. Smith as an auto mechanic and had also attended Grape Creek Baptist Church. He loved working outdoors and cooking for his family. He cherished the time he spent with his family and adored his grandchildren. He will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his Mother, Shirley Barnes; his daughters, Jessica Lee (Jerrad Dalbey) Barnes and Stacey Lynn Barnes; his brothers, Steve (Valerie) Barnes & Robert (Jennie) Barnes; his sister, Cindy (Tim) McAlpin; his grandchildren, Braeton, Khayman, Brennan, & Korryn; and his great grandson, Braeton Jr. He was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Dalton.

A celebration of Davids life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Westville, located at 414 S. State St, with Pastor David Leary officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm-7:00pm, Friday, March 22, 2019 at the funeral home. As per his wishes, he will be accorded cremation rites.
