David Pop Wilbern Baldwin, 76, of Perrysville, Indiana, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007 with his family by his side. David was born on June 18, 1931 in Sidell, Illinois, the son of Basil and Susie (Wilkins) Baldwin. He married Wilma Jean Stahl on August 20, 1955 in Georgetown, Illinois. She survives. He is also survived by his two sons- David William (Ronda) Baldwin and Basil W. (Debra) Baldwin both of Perrysville; one daughter- Kathy Sue Baldwin of Perrysville; one brother- Gerald (Peggy) Baldwin of Stateline; three sisters- Delores Williams of Punta Gorda, Florida, Patricia (Jack) Biggs of Georgetown and Dorothy (Fred) Bennett of Oakwood; five grandchildren- Shawn P. (Trish) Baldwin, Katie N. Baldwin, Mitchell Parrett all of Perrysville, Melissa (Marty) Ockels of Seaford, Delaware, and Roxann (Mike) Dreher of Dana; five great-grandchildren- Avery Blaine Baldwin of Perrysville, Alexandria Dreher of Dana, Nicole Dreher of Dana, Sidney Ockels of Seaford, Delaware and Coleton Hudson of Perrysville; one brother-in-law- Arthur (Joy) Stahl of Saukville, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents. David graduated from Sidell High School. He served in the United States Marines from 1952-1954. For 15 years he worked as a conductor and a brakeman for the C& EI railroad. After working for the railroad he worked at Anchor Hocking for 15 years. David farmed around the Perrysville area for several years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Several years ago he was a member of the Masons in Sidell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses and being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. David was very involved in church and worked in the horse ministry at Camp Assurance. A Celebration of the Life of David Pop Wilbern Baldwin will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Humrichous and Pastor Herb Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 " 8:00 p.m. Monday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice Foundation 103 S.
