David Alpers,73, of Danville passed away at 12:03am on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born October, 28,1942 in Danville, the son of William and Louise( Moulton) Alpers. He was united in marriage to Sharon Trowbridge on June 26, 1965, she survives. He will be missed by: two sons, David (Shelley) Alpers Jr and Steven (Melinda) Alpers; daughter, Judie (Bob) Cassity; three brothers, John (Linda), Bill, and Chris (Teena) Alpers; sister Bette Rae (Bob) Pirie; grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Kelly, Jacob, David Alan, Alyson, Acelynn, Reese, Kayla, Markus, Kataleena. David was preceded in death by his parents. David worked in sales at MIFCO in Danville for 50 years. He was an active member of Danville First Assembly of God Church, where he loved to sing in the choir. He also loved gardening and was very proud of his Christmas village. He loved his grandchildren very much and cherished the time he got to spend with them. David proudly served our Country in the Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Celebration of David's Life will be at 11:00am on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Officiating will be Romona Logan and Pastor Ryan Harris. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
