David Allen Nicoson

David Allen Nicoson, 50, of Danville, passed away at 2:58 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. David was born on July 31, 1955 in Danville, the son of Richard and Viola M. (Lister) Nicoson. David is survived by his parents- Richard and Viola Nicoson of Danville; one son- Donny (Marcy) Nicoson of Fithian and one daughter- Megan Nicoson of Danville and their mother- Nancy Curtis of Tilton; two brothers- Jeff (Kathy) Nicoson of Danville and Doug (Dawn) Nicoson of Horton, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; special friends- Dale Wilt of Muncie, Pam Johnson of Danville, Ilene Hardesty of Danville, and several other very special friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. David graduated from Danville High School in 1973. He later attended Danville Area Community College, where he graduated from in 1999 with his Associated Degree in Computer Science. While at DACC he earned high honors and was on the deans list. David worked at Pepsi for 17 years as route driver. After college he went to work at the VA as a computer technician for 5 years. David also worked at the David S. Palmer Arena for one year in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Community Church of God for the last two years. He was very involved in his church, where he would help with the videos and technical support. He loved being around his church family. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, hunting, bike riding; he loved sports and was an avid Illini fan. David loved to spend time with his family and his friends. A celebration of the life of David Allen Nicoson will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Community Church of God in Danville, with Pastor Joel Ferren officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Community Church of God.
