David A. Barney, 47, of Oakwood, passed away at 9:59am, Sunday, August 22, 2010, at his home. He was born on February 23, 1963, in Danville, IL, the son of Steve Barney and Myran (Ledbetter) Barney. He will be missed by: his fianc(c), Lorie Bloomfield, who has been his soul mate for 25 years; his mother, Myrna Barney of Danville; his father, Steve (Geri) Barney of Covington, IN; his sons, Kyle Barney of Grape Creek, Ryan Bloomfield stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Jordan Wisecup of Oakwood, IL, & Cody Coon stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA; his daughter, Samantha Barney of Ridge Farm; his grandchildren, Blake Barney & Maci Barney; his brothers, Steve Butch Barney of Covington & John Barney of Danville; his sister, Christine (Ron) Tatman of Westville; his sisters-in-law, Becky Hardesty of Danville, Jeri (Scott) Davis of Oakwood, & Gayle Witsman of Danville; his several nieces & nephew; and especially his best friend, Randy (Tina Bradfield) Sollars of Danville, whom we would like to thank you for all your love, support, & commitment to David during his illness, You are the true meaning of a Best Friend (my brother from another mother). He was preceded in death by his fianc(c)s mother, Bonnie Bloomfield. David enjoyed working on broken down vehicles and watching the Chicago Bears, as well as, loved his pets. He was employed at Thyssen Krupp in the cold forge department until his illness. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Labayog and his staff at Provena Cancer Center and Provena Hospice for the wonderful care given to David. A Memorial Celebration of Davids life will be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, with Patti Wise officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 4pm " 7pm on Thursday prior to the service. Memorial donations may be given in Davids name to the Provena Cancer Center or to his family to help with medical expenses.
