Darrell W. Meeker

Cayuga, Ind. -- Darrell W. Meeker, 67, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 3:20 p.m. EST Friday, February 29, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born August 17, 1940 in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of Paul B. and Wilma Faye Edwards Meeker. He married Beverly Reel on August 22, 1961 in Newport, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Lori(Brian)Klotz of Tecumseh, Michigan and Sherri(Randy)Self of Elkhart, Indiana; one son, Shane(Sue)Meeker of Danville, Illinois; his mother, Wilma Meeker of Cayuga, Indiana; grandchildren, Brandi and Joshua Klotz; Courtney(Jeremy)Self Ramey; Ashley and Colter Self; great grandchildren, Carter Ramey, Kamden Self and Alex Meeker. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul B. Meeker. Darrell was a former electrician for General Electric and TeePak. He was a 1958 graduate of Cayuga High School. Darrell was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church and the Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post # 263 Sons of the American Legion serving as the current Adjutant. Darrell was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He also enjoyed bowling, NASCAR and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cremation was chosen.
