Darrell Ray Orman, Sr.

Newport, Ind. - Darrell Ray Orman, Sr., 68, of Newport, passed away at 11:40 p.m. EDT Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born on July 2, 1943 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of the late Harvey M. and Edith Smith Orman. He married Phyllis Curtrell on June 11, 1977 in Newport, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Beth(Alan)McCune of Silverwood, Indiana; Jake(Rhonda)Orman, Tina Price, Linda Orman and Angela Olmi all of Terre Haute, Indiana; Stephanie(Chuck)Hillyer of Newport, Indiana and Jeff Robertson of Whitmire, South Carolina; Eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, Mary(Dode)Gardner of Atlanta, Georgia and two brothers, Kenny(Judy)Orman of Alabama and Don(Joyce)Orman of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Darrell was preceded in death by two grandsons and three brothers. Darrell was a retired truck driver. He last drove for RBW Trucking in Terre Haute. He was a member of the Newport Church of God. Darrell enjoyed woodworking, camping, watching westerns and working on vehicles. He especially enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren. Funeral Services: 11 A.M.
