Darrell Lee Rolinitis

Darrell Lee Rolinitis, 76, of Westville, passed away at 6:30am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at his home. He was born on November 1, 1941, in Danville, IL, the son of William and Ledia {Hamilton} Rolinitis. He was united in marriage to Bernetta Pintar on August 31, 1963, in Westville. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his children, DL II & Stacey (Sexton) Rolinitis, Mike & Missie (Hook) Rolinitis, and Steven & Laurie (Barnes) Rolinitis; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Mariah, Bryce, Dalton, Tyler, Arwen, his brother, William (Sharon) Rolinitis; his brothers-in-law, Bob (Dee) Ruch & Stan (Kathy) Pintar; and his uncle, Bob (Kathy) Lape. He was preceded in death by his parents. Darrell graduated from Westville High School, Class of 1960. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #51. He enjoyed volunteering with Boy Scouts, playing the slots at Paradice Casino, and was also an avid fan of the Chicago Bears. Darrell was proud of being a son of coal miner, a lifelong Westville Tiger, and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. A celebration of Darrell's life will be held at 10:00am, Monday, February 26, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with Father Saupp officiating. Visitation will be held 2:00pm - 5:00pm, Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville, with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #51. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the Danville Veteran's Administration or donor's choice of charity.
