He was a member of First Assembly of God, where he served as church treasurer and was also involved in the mens ministry. He also enjoyed going on church golf outings. Darrell enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and loved to spend his time with his grandchildren and his family. He was an avid sports and Illini fan. He was a member of the Vermilion Fishing Club and enjoyed riding around in his 64 Mustang. Dad, Husband, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Fianc(c), and Friend. Darrel was all of these and much more. He was a loving, patient husband and caregiver putting Carolyns needs first. He was the strong, silent type, with a quick dry wit. He was always there to lend a hand or help solve a problem. Darrell loved his family and his church; he was a man of God. Like his father, Charlie, he led by example, making tough choices to take the right roads rather than the easy ones. He was a man of detail, a man of practicality, a mathematician, a picture taker, a diet coke drinker, a coupon clipper, a golfer, a fisherman, a joke teller, a mushroom finder, a keeper of family history. He recently found long deserved happiness and love. In his words he realized, there was no time to waste. All who knew him were thrilled to see him happy, it will shape our memories of him. He leaves a legacy of children and grandchildren who are living proof of his planning, hard work, and love. When the golf balls sinks, when the mushroom sprouts, when the fish bites, hell be with us. Through love, he will be kept alive in our memories. Through faith in God, he will be forever in our hearts. A Celebration of the Life of Darrell F.
