Perrysville, Ind. - Darrell "Geno" Warner, 74, of Perrysville, passed away at 11:30 a.m. EDT Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1938 in Casey, Illinois, the son of the late Ralph and Mary Marie Pitcher Warner. He first married Patty Pearson. He later married Carolyn Howard on September 7, 1999 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Lori(Todd)Nafziger of Indianapolis, Indiana and Cheryl(Vinnie)Nittoli of Fishers, Indiana; one son, Terry Warner of Danville, Illinois and one stepson, Eddie(Geneva)Thompson of Perrysville, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Warner. Darrell retired in 2009 from HeatCraft after 47 years. He was a 1956 graduate of Westville High School. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 1271. Darrell enjoyed league bowling at Lincoln Lanes and was on the U.A.W. Local 1271 softball team. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, University of Illinois and NASCAR. Darrell enjoyed going to Dale's Tavern in Danville to talk with his many friends. The family would like to extend a special "ThankYou" to Geneva Thompson for the care she provided. Funeral services: 2 P.M. EDT Wednesday, August, 22, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Kevin Purdy; Burial: Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Wednesday, August 22, 2012 until time of services at the funeral home. Family request contributions to the I.U.
