Darrell Lee Edwards

Darrell Lee Edwards, 69, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away on September 24, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1957, in Williamsport, Indiana.

Darrell retired from Ceres Solutions in Wingate, Indiana, after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Cayuga American Legion Post 263 and was known for his hardwork, love of family, and spending time outdoors.

Darrell's happy place was Okaloosa Island, Florida, where he enjoyed vacationing. He was an avid bowler at Sycamore Lanes for many years and enjoyed gardening, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed attending National Drag Races, camping at Charlarose Lake Campground, and sharing good times with family and friends. Whether golfing with his son Travis, tending to his garden, relaxing with a Busch Light, or enjoying the company of those he loved.

He will be deeply missed by his loving companion, Connie Abernathy; his children, Travis Edwards (Kacie), and Dusty Edwards; grandchildren, Trey Edwards, Korbin Edwards, and Brody Edwards; and bonus Emily Hayes and Deaton Abernathy,

Darrell is also survived by his siblings, Eddie Edwards, Pam Evans, and Tammy Purcell; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pearl (Stewart) Edwards, and his brother, Ronnie Edwards.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. EST at Sunset Funeral Home – DeVerter Chapel, 215 North Division Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928. Private burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Attica, Indiana.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a dinner and time of fellowship at Cayuga American Legion Post 263 on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. EST.
