Darrell Brooks

Darrell G. Brooks, 57, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:43pm, Thursday, July 20, 2023, at home. He passed away never being married or having children of his own, but he would spoil all the children he knew. He would walk a mile and back for many friends needs. He loved hanging out with his buddies, going to the Georgetown Dam or Forest Glen County Preserve for cookouts and family gatherings. Darrell took a trip to Arkansas with brothers recently and talked of going back. He would make his rounds to have coffee and conversation with his friends, Vicki and Slick, and special friend, Scarlet. Darrell always had stories and news to tell, we called him "Radar". He got along in life better than anyone we knew and always had a story to tell about everything going on. He worked odd jobs, antique shopping with June and Craig, and Tuggle Construction. "You are always in our hearts." He was born on June 4, 1966, in Danville, IL, to Floyd and Patricia {Mourer} Brooks. He was the eighth child of 13 children; Floyd Jr., Ellia, Alice, Ronald, David, Roger, Laurie, Troy, Bobbi, Dwayne, Chris, and Amy. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister. "Rest in Peace, Darrell" A celebration of Darrells life will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to his service at the funeral home.
