Darrel W. Ping, Jr.

Perrysville, Ind. - Darrel W. Ping, Jr., 51, of Perrysville, passed away at 10:10 a.m. EDT Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born August 3, 1961 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the son of Janet Richardson Ping and Darrel Ping, Sr. He married Luann M. Jumps on June 26, 1982 in Perrysville, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Nathan(Brittany)Ping of Covington, Indiana and Brandon(Elise McElroy)Ping of Terre Haute, Indiana; his mother, Janet R. Ping of Covington, Indiana; his father, Darrel Ping, Sr. of Williamsport, Indiana; two sisters, Ruth Ann(Kenny)Niccum of Covington, Indiana and Lisa(Wayne)Coppenbarger of Kingman, Indiana; brother, Kevin(Jodi)Ping of Attica, Indiana; father/mother in law, Robert(Helen)Jumps and sister/brother in law, Ronda(Jim)Foster both of Rockville, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Blake; Kendall; Jaylynn; Kenlie; Matthew; Raeann and Makenzie. Darrel worked at the Newport Paper Mill until 2005. He was a 1979 graduate of Covington High School. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and Chicago Cubs baseball. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and dog, Remington. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Chuck Callahan; Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the funeral home. The family request casual attire to be worn.
