Darrel Meuser

Darrel Meuser, 81, of Chatsworth, IL entered eternal paradise with his heavenly Father and his beloved family on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his home.  He loved his Saviour Jesus Christ more than anything and often spoke about dancing with his family in the streets of Heaven.  Faith was the foundation of his life.

He lived a simple and humble life.  He died as he lived…innocent, kind, loving and a friend to all who had the privilege and honor of knowing him.  He touched the lives of everyone he met and he gave so much more than he ever gained from this world.  He was a constant source of warmth and light, a force of nature whose spirit was a boundless as his capacity to love.

Darrel was a teacher his whole life.  He taught lessons of life such as patience, kindness, empathy and courage.  He taught how important a smile is and how music is food for the soul.  It is heartful gratitude and love we have for a man whose presence in our lives was a true blessing.

Darrel was born November 5, 1942 in Urbana, IL, a son of John and Anna (Franzen) Meuser and brother of Dale Meuser all of whom preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his bonus family, Darrell and Tanya Bell of Chatsworth, many cousins, and a myriad of friends.

He loved music, singing, animals, cars, travel and the Fairbury races.

There will be a memorial service on Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the American Lutheran Church, 500 Church Street, Rantoul.  Rev. James Lehmann will officiate.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to any animal welfare agency of the donor’s choice.

Do not cry because he is gone but smile with joy and love that he lived!  Darrel lived had his love, laughter and memories will continue to comfort us.
