Darmon Lee Smith

Danville - Darmon Lee Smith, 79, passed away on Tuesday April 26, 2016 at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. He was born on October 23, 1936 in Calvin, VA, the son of Jess & Mary (Wynn) Smith. Darmon is survived by his children Darryl Smith, Rosalind (Donald) Little, Darmon Smitty Smith, Donna Smith, Amanda (Titus) Smith-Barber & Rebecca (John) Allsopp; many grandchildren; brothers Carl (Glenda) Smith, Clyde Smith, & Denny Smith; and sister Genice Humbert. Darmon is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Rachel Scott, Mary Ann Smith, & Naomi Maggard; and brothers Coy Allen & Jesse R. Smith. Darmon enjoyed catfish fishing, singing, playing the guitar (pickin' and a grinnin'), and feeding Norman the squirrel. He served in the United States Army & Navy. Funeral services will be private at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
