Darene Jones

Darene Jones, 85, of Covington, IN passed away on December 1, 2018 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville.

She was born in Covington, IN on March 1, 1933 the daughter of Darrell and Everal (Clark) Vyse. She married Elza Jones on July 31, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1980.

Darene is survived by her children; Linda Massey of Covington, Rita Jones of Covington and Brad (Kim) Jones of Independence, KY, 2 sisters, Dorothy McBride and Deloris Hayden both of Covington, grandchildren; Becky (Jeff) DeZarn, Nikki Allen, Ryan (Breanna) Jones, Eric Jones and Greg Jones, great grandchildren; Jacob, Kyle, Brookelyn DeZarn and Jalyn Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 brothers; Don, Darrell and Dave Vyse.

Darene loved traveling, going to the casino, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Covington VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed being a seamstress and being around all her friends at work. Darene also loved her 2 new teddy bear puppies "Toby" and "Ben".

A celebration of Darenes life will be held at 10:00 AM EST on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Sunsets Covington Chapel 420 3rd Street Covington, IN 47932 with Pastor Bob Fairchild officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4-7 PM EST at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington.
