Danny J. Wells, Sr., age 75 of Danville, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2014 at 1:22 AM at Presence USMC in Danville. He was born January 7, 1940 in Danville to the late Ira and Edna (Musson) Wells. Danny married the love of his life, Marian Margaret Hurst, August 16, 1961 in Covington. She survives. Also surviving are his sons, Danny Wells, Jr. and Todd Wells, both of Danville, and Rick Wells of Covington; grandchildren, Shanda (Cyle) Neal, Adrian (Chad) Cox, Tristan Howie, R. Luke (Crystal) Wells, Leslie, Maddy, Alana, Dakota, Starr, and Josey Wells; great-grandchildren, Colton, Whitney, Zach, Riley, Ian, Preslee, Gabby, and Vinny; brothers, Ronnie Wells of Danville, Larry (Shirley) Wells of Westville, Robert (Kam) Wells of Danville and Kenny (Carolyn) Wells of Danville; sisters, Betty (Charlie) Lewis of Georgetown, Norma Boes of Danville, and Sandy Kiser of Fairmount; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Annette Wells, brother, Floyd Wells, and sisters, Josephine Decker and Maryann Earl. Danny worked at Quaker Oats for 33 years retiring in 1999. He enjoyed NASCAR, going to car shows, and his truck that he named "Hershey". He also liked to go camping. Above all, Danny loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved his dogs. Danny will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Danny's Life will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville at 2:00 PM. Pastor Dustin Wells will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday from 11-2.
