Danny J. Adams

Danny Joe Adams, 72, Danville, passed away surrounded by family on July 21,2022.

Danny was born on May 21, 1950 on the family farm in rural Vienna, Illinois. He was the son of Billy and Molly (Elkins) Adams.

On June 12, 1970, Danny was united in marriage to Crystal Lynn Kennedy in Danville, Illinois. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Molly Adams of Vienna; 2 children, Kimberly (Steve) Larson and Chad (Amy) Adams; 9 grandchildren Kara (Dale) Terrell, Zechariah Smith, Brad Larson, Gabriel Smith, McKenna Smith, Lydia Adams, Colin Adams, Molly Adams, and Lucy Adams; 1 brother, Randy Adams of Vienna; and very special friends, Bart and Karen Costello.

In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by a daughter, April Adams; sister, Connie Stockdale; and his brother, Bobby Adams.

Danny was a 1967 graduate of Vienna High School. He then attended Danville Area Community College earning his Associates Degree. Danny began his career working for CASE IH until it closed. He then began a career with the Illinois Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer at Danville Correctional Center. During his career at Danville CC, he also served as Union President of AFSCME Local 2052 for many years. He retired from IDOC in 2002.

Danny enjoyed working on equipment for friends and family, spending time with family and friends, and watching westerns. Later in life he acquired some cattle and enjoyed spending time with his Aussie, Abby.

A memorial visitation honoring the life of Danny Adams will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834.
