Danny Vern Hedge, of Danville, died early Tuesday morning, August 29, 2006 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Danny was born August 17, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Arthur James Hedge and Ada Iva Adams Hedge, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers- Burel Deon and Forrest; and by two sisters- Burdetta and Phyllis Jean. He is survived by one son- James Michael Hedge of Texas; four daughters- Elizabeth Kirk of Missouri, Jody Lynn Hedge of Ohio, Amee Renee Cox of Indiana, and Mari Jane (Major) Schoonover of Tennessee. He is also survived by six grandsons- James Michael Hedge Jr., Jason Kirk, Joel Kirk, Justin Kirk, Haryson Daniel Schoonover and Eli Schoonover; four granddaughters- Alexandra Hedge, Kelsey Cox, Samantha Cox, And Chelsa Schoonover; and three great-grandchildren- Tyler, Savannah and Tommy Kirk. He is also survived by three sisters- Donna Mae Morris, Georgia Purdy and Barbara Helen Purdy all of Arizona; and many, many nieces and nephews and friends all over the world. Danny attended schools in Terre Haute, Indiana and was most proud of attending LAB School and being in their operettas and musicals. He was also proud to serve in the United States Marine Corps between 1956 and 1958. He attended Danville Area Community College and was on the Presidents List for high academics. His stories, sense of humor, and big smile will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Per Dannys wishes, there will be no funeral. Riverside services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006, in Terre Haute, Indiana on the Wabash River. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
