Daniel Marvin Williams

Springfield - Daniel Marvin Williams, 64, passed away on Sunday October 23, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on February 20, 1952 to John Henry and Nevada R. (Clarke) Williams in Philadelphia, PA. Daniel married Rosie Triplett on December 19, 1996 in Springfield, IL. Daniel is survived by his wife; step-daughters Zina Allen-Reddick and Desiree Myers; step-grandchildren Clifford L. Busby Jr., Audrey I. Buffer, Shayla I. Reddick, Dana Polite, and Devin Polite; 10 step-great-grandchildren; brother Clark (Sheila) Williams; sisters Sally Williams and Inez Williams; sister-in-law Isabelle Williams; favorite Aunt Birtheller Shepeard; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Henry Williams and Kenneth Michael Williams, and mother-in-law Maggie E. Triplett. Daniel retired after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force and 20 years with the Department of Revenue & Lottery. He loved spending time in his back yard and working in the garden. He enjoyed cleaning and waxing cars, and had an extensive collection of knick-knacks. Daniel and Rosie enjoyed a total of 30 years together before his passing. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 12pm with viewing one hour prior at Capital City Church of God 2501 E. Cook St. Springfield, IL. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday October 28, 2016 from 4-6pm at Sunset Funeral Home 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Daniel's name to the American Heart Association. Flowers may be sent directly to Capital City Church of God.
