He is survived by a son, William R. “Billy” Hible of Danville; a grandson, Braeden William Hible; five siblings, Christine (John) Ramsey, Lynn (Dennis) Garner, James (Patty) Hible, Donald “Duck” (Kathy) Hible, and Marie (Lindsay) Varner; good friend, Cheryl Hyche; Cheryl’s children, Beth, Marcia, John, Kalib, Kali, and Jessica Hyche; and grandson, Legend Hyche; ex-wife and friend, Cheryl Hible; friend, Charlotte Whitington; and numerous other friends and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Jamie Atwood-Hillard.
After graduating High School Boone enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for four years. He then went to work for CSX Railroad for over 20 years until his retirement. In his spare time Boone enjoyed shooting pool, throwing bags, and playing euchre and spades. During those activities, he was well known for his smack talking to get the edge.
Boone’s love of competition extended to his love of sports. One of his favorite activities was coaching his son Billy in baseball, as well as many other kids who remember him to this day. Mentoring those children and watching them grow was something he cherished. In professional sports, he was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan and had the special opportunity to attend some games with his son. In addition, Boone liked watching football, but especially college basketball during March Madness. He followed his bracket closely and liked to mark off teams after every game. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his friends and family who were very special to him. Boone will be dearly missed by them all.
