Daniel James Fout, 78, of Danville, IL, formerly of Fairmount, IL passed away at his home with his family by his side on December 12, 2025 at 11:45 AM.
Daniel was born on September 10, 1947 in Tacoma, WA the son of James and Beatrice (Beyers) Fout. He married Hui Chom Yi on November 12, 1968 at the American Embassy in Seoul, South Korea and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2017.
Daniel is survived by his children, Vickie (Danny) Allison of Danville, IL, James Daniel (Dorothy) Fout of Danville, IL and Brenda Lee (Aaron) Schultz of Georgetown, IL, five grandchildren, Jonathan, Thomas, Tascheka, Devon and Leheara, several great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild on the way, as well as two siblings, Jane (Bill) Lamb and Beatrice Lamb.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, wife Hui Chom Fout and one sister, Sue Knight.
Daniel served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending his free time in the outdoors, going fishing and camping, and bird watching. He also enjoyed traveling and a variety of foods and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Inurnment will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Danville National Cemetery at the committal shelter. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the funeral home.
