Daniel 'Danny' Smith

GEORGETOWN - Daniel L. Smith, 43, of Georgetown, passed away at 1:35am, Thursday, April 5th, 2007, at his home. He was born on August 26th, 1963, in Danville, IL. His father, William E. Smith, and his stepmother, Karen, survive him. Also surviving include: his wife, Melissa Smith of Georgetown; his two sons, Ryan Smith of Texas and Spencer Smith of Georgetown; his three daughters, Tiffany Martin of Indiana, Kaycee Smith of Texas, & Kailey Smith of Georgetown; his step-son, Joshua Rollins of Georgetown; his four sisters, Julie (Kenneth) Mowery of Tilton, Tina (Gary) Arrasmith of Westville, Darcy (James) Hatke of Williamsport, IN, and Denise (Eric) Zanders of Westville; his seven nephews; his four nieces; his 3 uncles; and one aunt. He was raised by his grandparents, Marjorie and Marion Ellis of Georgetown, both preceded him in death, along with his paternal grandparents, two uncles and one aunt. He worked at Georgetown Foods as a meat-cutter. He was a member of Tilton Basscasters and loved to go four-wheeling. He especially loved to spend time with his family. A celebration of Dannys life will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, April 7th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Pastor Kent Tibbens will officiate. Visitation will be from 8:30am to 11:30am on Saturday prior to service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Forrest Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the family.
