Dane Binkley

Ridge farm " Dane L Binkley, 85, of Ridgefarm passed away at 12:00 midnight Friday December 16, 2005 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. Dane was born to Samuel Porter Binkley and Evelyn Cox Mitchell on January 25, 1920 in Ridge Farm, IL. He was the youngest of 5 boys " George, Fred and Horace Binkley, and Cleo Mitchell. They all have preceded him in death as well as his parents and one grandson, Bradley Ray Binkley. Dane attended and graduated from Harrison Elementary School at Ridgefarm. He graduated from Ridgefarm High School in 1939. He continued his education at Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. He married Eula R. Hopkins, May 4, 1941. They have two children, Richard Binkley of Catlin, IL, and Sandra Creek of Chrisman, IL. He has five grandchildren, Dana Binkley Lourie and Beth Binkley of Columbus, S.C., David Creek of Chrisman, Andrew Creek of Milwaukee, WI, and Amy (Jerry) Cason of Indianapolis, IN. He also has six great grandchildren, Alexander and Spencer Lourie, Jesica Creek, Austin Cantrell, Kylie and Zoie Cason. Dane is a member of Ridgefarm United Methodist Church. He was also co-chairman of Ridgefarm Centennial. He farmed for many years and retired to become water superintendent for the village of Ridgefarm. He retired after 8 years, and became an antique dealer. He also repaired and restored antiques. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
