Dan Richard Bantz

Dan Richard Bantz, 55, of Danville, passed away at 12:12 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at his home. Dan was born on February 27, 1950 in Danville, the son of David and Elaine (Deighton) Bantz. He is survived by his mother- Elaine Bantz of Schaumburg, Illinois; 1 son- Nathan (Rimi Ikagawa) Bantz of Norfolk, Virginia; 1 daughter- Natalee Bantz of Norfolk, Virginia; 3 sisters- Angela (Ronald) Rahn of Marengo, Illinois, Cathy( Ray) Bogaert of Palatine, Illinois, and Jean Troy) Rodman of Wheaton, Illinois; 1 Grandson- Saine Daniel Bantz of Norfolk, Virginia; 2 nieces- Sarah Bogaert of Palatine, Illinois and Lauren Rodman of Wheaton, Illinois; and 3 nephews- Bill Rahn of Marengo, Illinois, Chris Rahn of Marengo, Illinois and Mike Bogaert of Palatine, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, David Bantz. Dan graduated from Oakwood High School in 1968. He worked at Hyster for 12 years, Quaker Oats for 17 years and since has been working at ConAgras Foods. Dan was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a licensed NHRA drag racer. He loved to race drag cars. Dan raced at Indianapolis Raceway Park and Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois and other various tracks. He was a member of Muncie Baptist Church in Muncie, Illinois. Dan was a great father and grandfather and loved his family very much.
