Dan A. Henk

Dan A. Henk, 86, of Danville, IL passed away at 5:09 AM on March 11, 2025.

Dan was born on November 24, 1938 the son of Wilbur and Myrtle (Leisch) Henk in Danville, IL. He married Judithanne Stuebe on August 12, 1962 in Danville, IL and she survives.

Also surviving are daughters: Susan (Phil) Muehl of Danville, IL and Tracy (John) Owens of Glen Carbon, IL. five grandchildren, Adam (Kassidy) Muehl of Danville, Alex Muehl of Danville, Abby Muehl of Danville, Matthew Owens of Glen Carbon and Mackenzie Owens of Glen Carbon, IL, three great grandchildren, Charlotte Muehl, Benjamin Muehl and Daniel Muehl of Danville as well as one sister, Patricia Brown of Danville and several nieces and nephews.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents and Judy's parents Anna and Wilmer Stuebe, and brother, Michael Henk.

Dan was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and transferred his membership to Trinity Lutheran Church when he and Judy were married. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 until 1959.

He was a machinist his entire working career retiring from General Motors in 1995.

Dan was a gentle man whose life revolved around his strong faith in God, followed by his love and commitment to his family. We will remember him as being loving and tender hearted. And patient! He had an amazing work ethic that he passed along to Susan and Tracy. His last big project was reroofing his grandson Adam's home when he was 78.

In earlier years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. But once there were grandchildren and great grandchildren it was anything involving them. He was always happy to fly "the W"! When he had to give up so many things due to his illness, he never complained but we felt his loss.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 East Main Street, Danville, Illinois. Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14,2025 4:00 PM to 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois 61834.
