Dale Woodrum, 71, of Danville, passed away at 6:49pm on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born on April 11, 1940, in Danville, the son of Amos and Hazel (Cooper) Woodrum. Both are deceased. On November 11, 1958, Dale married Janet Dubre in Danville. She survives along with their two children; Amos (Amanda) Woodrum of Ogden, and Kim (Greg) Judd of South Padre Island, Texas. His six grandchildren; Brent (Amy) Woodrum, Krista (Michael) Savadge, Britany (Jim) Carver, Kayla Judd, Emilee Sorensen, Olivia Sorensen, three great-grandchildren; Madyson Savadge, Callie Savadge, Caden Woodrum, and one sister; Virginia Moorhous of Mt. Vernon, IL, also survives Dale. In addition to his parents, his brother; Elmer Woodrum also preceded Dale in death. Dale worked as a maintenance supervisor for the former Smurfit Stone Company of Danville, retiring in 2002, after 35 years of service. He was a member of the 2nd Church of Christ in Danville, and enjoyed collecting electric Lionel Trains, watching NASCAR, and be with his family and friends. A Celebration of Life service for Dale Woodrum will begin at 10:00am on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Entombment will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Dales name to the 2nd Church of Christ, and/or Illini Christian Ministers in St. Joseph, IL.
