Dale Robinett, 97, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 10:00am, Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the home of his nephew in Watertown, WI. He was born April 28, 1910, near Georgetown the son of O.C. and Hazel Smith Robinett, and widower of Dora E. Sanders and Martha Barker. He was a teacher and principal for 38 years. He was past president of Vermilion County principals and VCRTA. He was active in retired teachers serving on the State Board many years as Regional Director or Committee chairman. A WWII Veteran of the US Army, he served in ETO where he was awarded the Bronze Star while in Germany. He became an active member of Vermilion Grove Friends and served on various yearly meeting committees. He is survived by a nephew, Pastor Jim Stevens and family of Wisconsin, and seven foster children. A celebration of Dales life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Vermilion Grove Friends Meeting, Ridge Farm, IL. Pastor Jim Walker will officiate. Visitation will be 9am to 11am at the Church prior to the service on Saturday. He will be laid to rest in Vermilion Grove Cemetery with military rites by the Dornblaser American Legion Post 203 of Georgetown.
