Dale F. Lieb, 90, of Rantoul, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. He was born in Urbana on August 3, 1935, the son of Frederick and Katherine (née Sullivan) Lieb. On September 3, 1960, he married the love of his life, Judith Lund, and they spent 61 years together before her passing in April of 2022.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Greg) Kreps; grandchildren, Shannon (Jimmy) Uplinger, Devon Kreps, and Delila (Josh) Witwski; great-grandchildren, Carter, Maya, and Nicholas; siblings, Richard (Judy) Lieb, Kenny Lieb, and Marsha (Charlie) Smith. He also leaves behind family friends, Linda and Jordan Boberg, many nieces and nephews, and several Army buddies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several siblings.
Dale lived a life marked by dedication and service, first as a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Dale worked at the Rantoul Lumber Company and later contributed to the family farm, where he spent many rewarding years.
Dale was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Malachy Catholic Church, where he found community and strength in his faith. He was known for his involvement in various organizations; Dale was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a former president and member of the AMVETS.
In his personal time, Dale enjoyed playing cards and connecting with family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Malachy Catholic Church, 311 E. Grove Ave. Rantoul, IL. 61866 at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Visitation will be held prior from 10:00 am to10:30 am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dale’s name to the Sr. Teresa Marron St. Malachy School Scholarship Fund from the SMS Class of 1975 or donors' choice of charity
